savour: \ ˈsā-vər \
: to enjoy a feeling or an experience thoroughly; to relish; to give taste to
This is exactly why we will gather together - in order to savour. This 3-day floral gathering will be founded upon a savouring of the moments, the season, the flowers, the conversations, the landscape, the flavors, and the crossing of paths and lives. Designing flowers is about more than just creating arrangements or executing a vision for a client. Flowers give us a platform and a way to linger in certain moments as if time stop for just a bit.
While designing flowers can often lead to chaos, stress, and long days of physical labor, the goal of this workshop is to slow down, to intentionally take in the richness of the beauty we are surrounded by and the wonderful people we get to encounter.
Open to designers of all levels, experience, and professional goals.
Come savour with us as we design, eat, laugh, and experience together.
LOCATIONS
COLLABORATORS:
Horta de la Viola, Olga’s Flower Farm, Puscina Flowers
It is the grit, the care, and the endless hours of hard work from flower growers that allows us to use beautiful and unique blooms in our designs. With the rapidly changing seasonality of flowers, it is important to relish and to savour the fleeting moments that flowers are in their prime. This is why we are teaming up with flower growers from both Spain & Italy to cut from their gardens and use those unique and special varieties to naturally and intentionally enhance our designs. It is so important to cultivate relationships between flower farmers and floral designers and understand how we can best support one another.
During each workshop experience, students will only cut and use flowers from the floral farm that will be blooming during that particular season, in order to use the freshest & most beautiful product possible. So if you are particular fan of spring, summer, or fall blooms, there is a workshop experience for you.
